Family Oral History and Genealogical Research

Damien offers paid, professional services to research and/or interview family members or friends for the oral and documentary history of their lives.  Damien has been paid by clients to research, read and organize family documents, photos, paintings and letters.  Damien has also done in-depth interviews with veterans of World War Two and civilians from other time periods for digital video archives for families as well as providing typed notes of his various, extensive interviews in which he employs his historical knowledge to provide key questions to the key events in their lifetimes.

Damien began his love for family history with his many long conversations with his grandfather, a career U.S. Marine and a veteran of World War Two, along with ancestral stories and archival research of his ancestors in Deerfield, Massachusetts.

Damien can provide hourly services a genealogist delving into the research libraries, including his membership and years of experience researching in the archives of the Connecticut Historical Society, the Connecticut State Library, and the Historic Deerfield Library, just to name a few.  He has performed research at such institutions as the National Archives in St. Louis, the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C, the Pennsylvania Historical Society in Philadelphia, and Yale University.

Damien assisted three high school students outside Philadelphia with Facetime consultations on their ambitious, creative project to produce and perform a play about the Culper Spy Ring of the American Revolution.  The students praised his guidance and they made it all the way to national competitions!
